I used to say, “This just must be my lot in life that I have to work.” But, when I was growing up; I wanted (and I still want) to travel, have adventures, and not have to worry about how the light bill would be paid. So really, the Lord answered my prayers with my career. I have the ability to work and earn a salary to pay for all those things!
Work has meaning and worth. It does not have to be miserable. It can be challenging, but it can also be rewarding.
We are living in a time when we can choose from many types of work. We can obtain training and change jobs. We can earn a degree and go into a different profession. We can take flight and open a new business.
We are living in a time of possibilities. Let’s change our mindset about work and make it an acronym rather than a four-letter word.
Here’s mine:
- W – Willingness
- O – Opportunity
- R – Rewarding
- K – Kindness and Kin (family)
